Visualizing interior space

 


This is just a simple sketch I created to show the idea of how the quite space may be sitting in the classrooms and how they can be used. I want to bring bursts of colour which are used in the windows at the front into the building to give the separation for the children to understand the spaces better. I was also looking at how i could maybe use the wall as interactive for the children to draw on and maybe have different ideas of how the wall can be interactive for different ages. This could be done by having things that go back to the client analysis of how children develop and placing in things that help with that age groups development. From this I thought of maybe having a climbing wall for 3-5 year old's as they are at an age where they are wanting to climb and do more. I could then use a chalk board for the toddlers and maybe a sensory or interactive wall with things to move and and textures for the Babies.

  My concept is all about the development of a frog and how this development is very similar to the growth of child development. With my main form I want to show how there is this growth in the buildings changing size around the site. This change will be done in an almost circular formation within the site. This is created with both my curved (learning spaces) and geometric (main functions) buildings through the form of them in a circular setting. The learning spaces are showing the life cycle from the start years when there is the start of the frog’s development as a tadpole. The change of the sizes getting bigger for each classroom shows how the tadpole will be getting larger and developing new skills like what the children are going through. This then leads onto the main function’s spaces with the hall, kitchen and staff spaces. These spaces are resembling the frog due to this being at the end of the life cycle.
